Session description:
This session aims to highlight the key role advocacy plays in engaging with stakeholders (be it policymakers, patients/ their care partners, the general public, Pharma, or the WHO) and working together towards the desired goal of advancing kidney health worldwide.
Learning objectives:
Understand the principles of healthcare advocacy for kidney health (i.e. Credibility, Transparency and Accountability, Participation, Communication, and Legitimacy). Understand the principles for translation of evidence into policy for kidney health. Learn from real-life examples of successes and overcoming challenges. Understand the skills required to generate/gather evidence to support advocacy and policy development. Use knowledge gained during the workshop to work through 2 case studies
