Session description
This session will discuss salient topics in AKI and critical care nephrology with emphasis on challenges in low resource settings and the impact of young nephrologists in the development and sustainability of critical care nephrology programs. It will also feature roundtable to discuss implementation, challenges and pipeline of development and sustainability of critical care nephrology programs in Latin America.
Learning objectives:
Review novel concepts of blood purification in critically ill patients. Review advances in AKI sub-phenotyping. Discuss the impact of personalized medicine in critical care nephrology. Describe current state of critical care nephrology in Latin America. Identify gaps and opportunities to further develop critical care nephrology in Latin America. Discuss ongoing initiatives to close identified gaps. Discuss mechanisms to promote collaboration, exchange and sustainability of critical care nephrology programs in Latin America
